Rather than give the cover to a photographer, that might be a better fit for a periodical that is surely financially strapped, NYT Magazine decides to go with Jeff Koons. My opposition to Jeff Koons is not simply due to the fact that I think he’s very overrated, and that his most interesting work was done over 10 years ago. I think that the cover should have gone to a photographer who might actually need work. But, I suppose, that might not be a “hip” thing for the magazine to do. Who wants to give work to someone that actually needs work? Not NYT Magazine.

That must have been great! Yeah, she really changed discourses of gender, and sex in art history. Her essay Why Have There Been No Great Women Artists? became incredibly influential.
Who doesn’t love prints, nudes and Andy Warhol? Linda Nochlin is also amazing—she’s one of my favorite art historians. I fell in love with her more when I saw her name attached to this.
I realized I was talking about Andy Warhol: Ladies & Gentlemen, Sex Parts, Torsos, Polaroids and not the book of the actual series Andy Warhol Nudes right after I responded. I haven’t had coffee yet, so forgive me.
You should leave it open! :) I’ve been waiting to get that book myself, but its price has gone up since it came out, making it a little out of my reach.
