I haven’t posted on here in some time. This is mostly due to, though not entirely, the fact that I’m no longer in school and have since been enjoying a nice break from the wonderful, yet somewhat stifling world of academia. Countless fruity drinks and unnecessary sun bathing might come to your mind, but the past few weeks have been filled with 10+ hour long naps, unpacking from my 10 month old move, kale chips, and terribly cliche episodes of existential angst. What little respect I have for myself is in large part owed to never having broken down into tears during a shower, wondering what may lie ahead for this pretend art historian. You know, that old cinematic trope of loss and failure. However, I’m back on the keyboard, editing my CV, coming up with a “statement of purpose” for various MA/PhD programs—for which I may or may not be qualified for—, catching up on the latest art news, and endless cover letter writing. The latter which brings endless joy to my life, duh! Now, let’s get back to businasty …
*The image posted above is of me holding an old high school assignment I did for my Drawing 1 class. Hearts are breaking because I didn’t pursue art any further, I know.
